Hi Everyone,

I am super noob when it comes to black rifles but jumped head first with a LE6920 Socom. Just wondering if you can help me with the below accessories and what I should be looking at. I am on a tight budget so hoping for economical ideas...

Mags
Vertical Grip
Sling
Light
Zoomable sight with the ability of co-witness
Ammo
Anything else....

Thank You

What is your budget for everything? A lot if not all those parts could be found on EE and save yourself a bunch of cash. Then use that cash for ammo.

There are tons of goodies out there that you can choose from. Just my 2 cents on some of the accessories I had experience with...

Mags - Pmags hands down...doesn't matter gen 2 or gen 3, both are good, just make sure they are properly pined to 5.5 round
Vertical Grip - Magpul: RVG/AFG / Tango down / Troy....really depends on your personal preference
Light - Inforce is a good light with reasonable price. Surefire is the premium stuff, but you can find deals here and there.
Zoomable sight - Vortex Strike fire is a very economical sight, it comes with a 2x magnifier

Does the infoce have a remote on/off available? As for grip not sure what I need I am assuming something light good quality.

I highly recommend LAR mags, or if you're patient, wait for ATRS to get their AT-15 Mag order filled. 5 Mags will run you +/- 150 depending on where you get em.

I would also go with the Magpul AFG2. It is very comfortable.

Magpuld MS3 slings are a pretty good value, and I like the 2 point - 1 point option. I eventually upgraded to a V-CAS sling though.

I run a Strikefire, and as mentioned it is a great sight for the money. It does have a 2x screw-in lense, but it is next to useless in my opinion. If you want a variable scope, you are going to blow your budget right out of the gate.

Do you plan to run this in competitions? If so, you'll need a mag carrying solution as well. Of course you can always run the "pocket o' mags" too,I've seen it done at comps.

Thanks for the reply just wondering the best price to get the mags, grip and sling in canada? As scopes how is the tac30??

Ditch the Sling and light and spend more on the others.

Ranges won't let you sling a loaded rifle and same go for 3/2 gun matches and you can't carry it around in the woods...so no need.

And unless you plan on using your AR for room clearing...you won't need a light either

hope that helps :)

This is what you need. Nothing more and nothing less.

Make sure you have a look through the Burris, I really wanted one but found the reticle very distracting, and took up a lot of the Site picture. Might be great for you but just in case.

Here is the very good scope, like AR180Shooter said, ditch the other stuff. Get a good 1-4x scope, a mount, few mags, then ammo ammo ammo. Once you shoot for a bit, you'll see what you need next, vertical grip, or trigger, or new stock, etc.

Best bang for buck in my opinion. Ive replaced my other scopes many times because I was too cheap to buy a good one. I ended up wasting more money, ammo and time doing it that way.

Bfg vickers sling.
Reliable mags - pmags.
You have your iron sites...
Boom done.

Why a vert grip?
Why a light?
Why anything else besides trigger time?
Why an adjustable scope?

Are you planning on shooting up to 100m or from 100m?

Thanks NZA just wondering what connector I would need for the BFG Vickers sling.

Also can anyone recommend a good .223 ammo that is on sale somewhere?

-Buy mags and ammo. You don't really need anything else in the beginning.
-As you get used to it you will figure out if you need a front grip and handling a few other peoples rifles will help you decide which type.
-A sling isn't really needed if your just going to the range and sitting at a bench or standing next to one.
-Unless your range allows shooting at night you don't need a flashlight, it just adds weight for nothing and gives you the full mall ninja look.
-A nice optic after the mags and ammo but there are very few that you can co-witness that have a magnification range as most 1-4 are not true 1x and the sights pretty much vanish. Co-witness is for red dots like an Eo-Tech but I find it more of a hindrance as your sight picture gets pretty busy. I run folding sights on a couple of mine but I never use them, a 1-4 or a 1-7 style scope is all you need.
A lot of this also depends on what you intend to do with your rifle, if you are only going to shoot at 50 yards or less all you need is a red dot but if you want to shoot 100-500 yards a 1-4 is minimum and spending $1000 on a 1-6 or 1-7 might be better. It also depends on your accuracy expectations, if you just want to hit a 12 inch gong at 200 yards you can get away with iron sights but if you plan to shoot 4-6 inch groups at 300 yards some magnification may be required. Whatever optic option you choose to go with spend as much as you can afford. You definitely get what you pay for with glass. I have an Elcan Specter DR and everyone I let look through it is blown away by how crisp and clear the image is.

Nothing will improve your shooting like getting out to the range and shooting your rifle.

If your rifle has a side swivel, you don't need anything else, just the BFG vickers sling. no other connector needed. For support, ask Farmboy or just youtube it. It also has a QS connector that you don't have to use. But you could attach it to your rail if you have a Quick Detach hole on the rail. If not, there's plenty of brands of QD female ends that attaches to the rail. I have a daniel defence one myself. The other end just loops through your stock - it has slots for it.
