I was looking at the C-products mags from SFRC because I always liked the look of steel mags, but I only have a few P mags and a couple LAR-15s.
Anyways, I ordered one with some ammo I bought and ended up with a gen 2 P mag inside the box when I got it.

Now I'm not complaining by any means, I was excited to get a (i'm assuming) better mag for the same price. But I was wondering if these C-product mags are any good for the money ($17)? Or if im better off spending a few more bucks on P mags.

I have a pile of 5/30's and 4 5/20's and they all feed perfectly in all 3 of my AR's and also in the 2 AR's and the AR180 I sold.

So perfect function in 6 different rifles.

I mostly use Pmags now but trust the Cproducts enough that they are in my bug out bag.

I had 10 of them (5/30)...no issues at all. I just recently gave 5 of them to my son and he's not having any problems with them either.

My C Products mags are flawless.

Maybe the problem is your rifle.

I had 3 brand new 5/30 C-Product mags that came with a brand new Stag bought from a sponsor here. Whenever I loaded 5 rounds into any of the three, there would be a double feed. I have two dozen p-mags and I have had no such issues since I tossed those mags into the dumpster at the range. Yeah... must be the rifle.

I got two of the c-products mags with a rifle i bought. They were used, but neither of them funtioned properly. The springs felt like they had barely any tension and the followers always stuck. They make great paper weights now. I would say spend the extra cash and buy D&H mags.

Let's be clear here. Are these new C Products mags or old ones?

The original C Products went out of business a couple of years ago. Another investor went in and bought the company, and this guy has some of the highest standards for a magazine that I've ever seen.

Possibly some old ones were questionable, but anything newly made should be flawless.

I bought the Stag with the 3 mags in 2008.

I have both C-Products as well as D&H.

Most are good and function without issue.

But it also depends on who you purchase them from, and who supplied that vendor, based on who Riveted the mags to hold the 5 rounds in the first place.

I say this because I have a few of each brand that function with only 4 rounds, and will not feed if a fifth is used because of how tight they are.

I have the same issue with varying PMAGS.

I find it all has to do with the riveting and how much space is left for that last round.

My solution?

Internally block Troy Battle Mags. These are by far the best mags I have ever used. No rivet or 5th round issues to worry about.

I will be buying more in bulk.

I will also be buying some of the ATRS 10/20 LAR mags as well. Same reason. Proper blocking.

Why not just buy the atrs 10 round mags? Never had an issue with them in my tavor, I have a dozen of those, and half a dozen of the new brunswick ones.

Any way to tell the difference? Mine are pinned with a square punch instead of a rivet. They work great other than I had to bend a couple of the tabs created by the punch down a little so the follower had enough room to take 5.5
