AR-10 CAD Model

Why'd wally get pinked?

If I wanted to create a custom (modern armalite) AR10 lower I would buy one of these 80% blanks.

The DPMS pattern blanks are VERY common.

If a vintage AR10 lower is to be fabricated then it is just a matter of finding drawings.

pink because of a hotlink, I will forward this info, thx

Yep, banned for hotlink but I contacted Greentips (I'm assuming it was GT I talked to) and had the situation resolved.

Again, the legal speculation is outside the scope of this thread.

Anyway, thanks for the input. *MALICE*, I saw that thread on AR15. com and it appears to be much like the upper model I already have but I still need internals. Still looking :)

Search for ar10
There is an entire rifle in Soldworks.
Don't know how accurate or detailed it is.
Might be a start. Could always get someone to save as STEP file or IGES.

Been there, done that. It's an eDrawing format which is next to useless. If I could get that model in STEP it would probably be pretty good.

If it is for personal use the patent limitations don't apply. If he is planning on selling them, then he does need to worry about it and sort out licensing deals.

Patent violations are also not going to be a problem. This will be an original product, it will not need approval, it will dramatically improve the quality of an existing product and, if I can get the models I need to complete it, I will contact a Canadian manufacturer for production.

I imagine the best possible outcome being someone loaning me an AR-10, without the receiver so I can model it but I'm not sure what the likelihood is of that happening.
