Finally arrived via canada post. Gun is super light to the point of feeling cheap. The magazines belong in a squirt gun. I knew this before buying I'm just hoping it shoots decent and can take some coyotes and gophers. I've got a bushnell 3x9 off a savage that I had put a better scope on so I'll try that out. If it does three shots in 1.5" that would be awesome but I'm thinking 2"-2.5". Still good enough I think. I will hopefully get to the range this weekend to sight it in.

Kinda does feel like a cheap plastic toy. I might put the ar stock and the better for end on it. Maybe that will make it feel better. I'd rather have a tavor or a HK but I'd really like to stay married too.

Don't judge it till you put a half decent optic on it and see your groups. It's fun to shoot, fairly accurate, non-restricted and a good price all things considered. Is it a rifle meant for WWIII? No, but it isn't advertised as such.

if you look down the scope with a bore-sighter, you will notice you can flex the receiver. I sold mine because you will notice it can flex so much it can be off by a foot at 100 yards.

Maxed my card and fell for a Tavor instead. lol

Fun utility rifle.
Yes the receiver is light weight as Mark says.
However, so long as you don't chain it up in your basement and rub it and twist it 'til it cries it should be ok.

It can be as accurate as you let it be and do your part.
It has been two years now since I shot a friends'. I took my time and actually got one of those once in a lifetime fluke half inch groups with this.
My so called friends have never let me live this down since.

It is light, simple and fun.
It fires a useful round, fairly accurately too.
Enjoy these parts of it for what it is.

I thought about the SU-16 for a while, but if you can afford a Tavor, there's nothing the SU-16 does better. The Tavor is smaller, shorter, faster to shoot, less tiring to shoot, more accurate, more reliable, longer lasting, more ergonomic, conflict tested. I think the next generation T97s with integrated rail will be an even better proposition given they're the same price; then there's no reason to get a SU-16 unless you like its looks. I think the only charm of the SU-16 is its weight and foldability, but the foldability isn't very good since the pin is easily lost, and if compared to a T97 which is the same size as the folded SU-16, then there's really no practical reason to get a SU-16.

I made the plunge into this too. My biggest complaint is the ammo sensitivity. Blows out primers of some brands. And i think it would be better with a metal upper receiver.

Mine will group cheap MFS and surplus from 2.5 to 3.5 at 100 yards, better ammo will do 1.5. That was sand bagged and a 9x scope. Kel-Tec does not like you using steel case ammo but i haven't had a problem yet. Switched my regular size scope to a compact Scorpion so i didn't have to remove it when stripping the rifle for cleaning. Haven't run into any problems with ammo sensitivity or primers blowing out, have used Norinco, MFS, Hornady steel match, Fiocchi and some old Korean surplus.

I originally posted in general firearms and it got moved by a moderator.

Anyway brother shot it today. Said it reloaded and fired perfectly, sights lined up with the shot. He didn't like the sights but never said why.
