Info on Kel-Tec SU-16fx

Meh I got one anyway, and yes they fixed the receiver problem about 3 models ago (Charlie I think?). I'm in the process of modding mine now, I'll throw pics up later.

Charlie model is certain setup that existed before the SU16 was even available in Canada.

SU 16 pricing

US = $550
Canada = $800

Sub 2000 pricing

US = $300
Canada = $600

For this reason I will never buy a product from Vault no matter what it is!!!

These guns are made to sell at a certain price point, and at that price they are not bad, but with these markups you are not getting any value whatsoever out of these guns.

Amen.

Just look at all of those SUB 2000's, all of them for $300 and in-stock, ready to ship!

Hardly anybody wants them!

You know, "they're made to see at a certain price point".

You've fallen prey to the Socialist way of thinking when it comes to supply/demand. It's the "Soviet bread line" mindset. Sure, bread was cheap in Soviet Russia.....but you had to stand in a line all day to get a small piece of it.

I'm no defender of Vault considering some of the warranty complaints I've read on here, but c'mon, man - It's only a $300 gun IF you can actually buy one for $300, which you cannot do in the US right now, hence, price goes up.

Supply/demand.

Just got the email and they said

"The rifle comes as a pre pack with bag and optic as well. I believe they will hit the shelves for $1249."

How much does the original su16f go for? I can't find it on any sponsor sites. I'm probably not looking hard enough

I hope this is a sick joke...

Well.....

The AR stock kit retails here for $200.
The FakoTech sight might be worth $100 (although it's worth nothing to me).
And the muzzle is threaded ($80 from Dlask).

So, yeah, not quite worth an extra $450.

If they came in at $300 more, I'd be interested. That's $200 for the stock kit and $100 for the threaded muzzle. $1100 would be nice.

Supply & demand, perverted by a monopoly & asinine laws.

Irunguns could bring them in, but the model would be restricted due to barrel length.

You're also forgetting the for end and case, but I agree definitely not worth it.

So does "the vault" have an exclusive distribution deal?. Because if not, then couldn't we just import them ourselves?.

You have no idea what's happening with the US market right now, do you?

I think you're the one out of touch. There is currently a glut of modern sporting rifles down south due to massively increased production following the panic buying last year.

The canadian specific su16 has a longer barrel(18.5"), vs the american ones due to Canadian regulations on rifles. You could import one, but it would be the restricted US model.
Vault is the exclusive dealer for the Canadian version, they do not sell to the public, just to the local dealers.

From what I understand this version (the su16fx) is only being made for canada. No 16 inch versions will be made.

Well that sorts that out. I can't imagine that the fx will sell well at 1249 + tax.
