SKS misfiring after new NCStar gas tube replacement...

that would cause it to basically collect insane amounts of gunk while firing, which is supremely bad when using corrosive, (note my posting about the holes being eaten in my original after only a couple days sitting and only one really good day out shooting 500 rounds)
so youd have to clean the grease and everything each time... and reapply each time... lots of work just for me to enjoy my red dot :(

very sad, i like the red dot.

let me know how it goes tho if u try it! might work out with the non corrosive ammo.
Got one, does the same thing, NC Star

Was going to try some grease on the piston next trip out

i changed because i failed to clean my gas tube and piston following a day out shooting about 500 rounds... i cleaned the rest...
a friend with an SKS warned me the following week about reading that the corrosives eat the gas tube.

So i cleaned it and it was messy inside... close inspection under lights turned up some pitting inside.. i cleaned it and treated it with anticorrosives... but i thought well, why not order the replacement gas tube.. and use the red dot sight my friend wanted to sell me for cheap.

in one week !? I have a friend who abused the crap out of an SKS to see what it would take... I can recall a point where he shot the rifle (at least 500 rounds ) and then put it away for 3 months. Pulled it out, gave it a quick clean and wipe down (get the rust off lol) picked it up. Shot fine. Little pitting in the gas tube wont kill it. Its an SKS Shoot it till it dies, then buy another !

putting the original lightly pitted gas tube back on then :) I have a spare on the way for when it gets bad. I wont cry about it so much.

But on the nice russian SKS i ordered i'll take a bit more care.
