I'm not sure if this has already been posted or not so I apologize if this is nothing new....I couldn't find anything searching.

I just found that the Canadian Tire website has a number of (approx. 70+) reloading items listed on it. I believe these items are new to CT because there isn't a single review on anything. Although not the best selection there are items by Hornady, RCBS, Hodgdon, CCI, etc. When I tried to find a store with in-stock items I wasn't able to find anything in Southern Ontario so I called the 1-800 number and learned that if you take the product number into your local store they will order it for you. This isn't a huge deal but if you're like me and hoard CT money it helps offset the cost of reloading. I just thought I'd put this out there as it might be a help to fellow Gunnutz.

Just use the search window on the CT site and type in "reloading" and then in the left margin select "hunting" to eliminate unrelated items.

Cheers

From what I hear through the grapevine, CT in Meaford and Belleville ON stock some reloading items, and can order tonnes more in.

This is a new development in my eyes as I primarily buy my gas at Shell for the airmiles. I may have to switch back.

Thanks for posting this.

Interesting. I looked at large rifle primers, more expensive than Cabela's, so they'd have to be in stock on the shelf in front of me. No point going through the hassle of trying to actually order them into a local CT. The employees wouldn't even know what to do. Last time I bought some shooting clays at CT they didn't know what I was talking about. Took way too long to explain to them what they were and have them find them in storage cause they weren't on the floor.

Oh I know what you mean when you say they don't know what you're talking about. In fairness it's not like the average CT employee would know much about reloading anyways.....but it's difficult for them to get it wrong when you provide them with a product code. My only point was that this could help cut our costs if you can use CT money to buy supplies.

I think this is a great thing ! Another local source for reloading supplies can't be a bad thing. I took a quick look at what they had , and its not alot, so far, but it's a great start. Get the product code off the web-site. Provide the clerk at the store with a product code to order it in. This could save me some gas money driving to one of the other out of town sources. One more thing to remember CT stores will price match. Then whip out the roll of CT money. I have a couple items picked out already . Gonna try a test run.
Thanks for the heads-up deerbeer !

Cool.. thanks

"...reloading items..." Surprised me when I was in the Dundas St store, just before deer season. Don't ask the clerks for info. They're minimum wagers and get no training of any kind.

Well I just made my first order at the local Canadian Tire. I asked them to order three items but only one of them was available for delivery from the warehouse. Lol. The other two items were "seasonally discontinued" and would not be available for order until some time next year. I was given a rain check for the one item and told that it would be in soon. Oh well....still a good use of CT money and I'll check back frequently. When things are available to order I'll stock up.

This is all quite interesting. Years ago CT had quite a stock of firearms ammunition and general hunting supplies in most stores. At that time they were also very big Liberal supporters. Along came a Mr Rock and his idea to re-engineer Canadian society. We all know how that helped law abiding hunters. Most CT stores dropped their firearms and hunting supplies. Now they are losing market share to several other store chains they are scambling to get products back on the shelf. I think I'll wait for the local sporting goods store to get stock in.

The Belleville store is well stocked with reloading stuff mainly from LEE, Hornady and some RCBS. They are subject to the same problems as most shops when it comes to getting some items but if you are in the area I would definitely recommend bringing in your wish list. Mostly I find the guys running the sporting goods counter very knowledgeable I personally know a couple of them who have been shooting and loading for years. The section is very well stocked with hunting and fishing gear and is available year round. They also have a few milsurps and though the gun racks are packed full, they have more in the back so if you don't see what you want, ask. It's nice to see.

The store in Trenton on the other hand is a wreck, don't bother. It is a challenge just trying to find a $10 cleaning kit or a trigger lock.

Owen Sound and Hanover are now stocking more and more hunting/reloading equipment as well as a decent selection of guns. Maybe CT is turning it around and retuning to the old days......let's hope.
