today your club stops one activity, next couple meetings they stop another, in few months they ended up running only one or two activities, after little while your club will become boring and have no one interrest in it, shortage of funds and the end is reality

This situation sucks Rob. It is very unfortunate the shooting sports in general have to fight two fronts.
Here's hoping you get them to see reason.

To the OP;
Option 1:If the meetings only have 13 who show up get a few accomplices and take over the club.
Option 2: most club constitutions state that they are to support the shooting sports and or the development of good marksmanship- I highly doubt they labelled specific disceplines. Perhaps you can remind them of that.

My choice would be option 1.

While effective, the problem with Option 1 is that it is a bit of a "nuclear" option. It can be very destructive, can have long term negative effects, and you risk the same thing being done to you when the next election rolls around. Option 2, while more difficult to achieve, is more of a "changing hearts and minds" that would be a better solution for the club as a whole in the long term.

Hi; Option 2 is most likely best BUT.
Kinda been there and stacking the deck with your members and getting a re-vote is, sadly the most successful way forward.
option 3; Let them eat dirt! take your good deeds and hard work to another location.

At the last Ponoka meeting last week several resolution were past.

1. That the club support IDPA shoot, carried.
2. that the club create a pistol chair position, carried.

When I volunteered to be the pistol chair my nomination was not accepted by the Executive.

So until the elections in February the status of IDPA shooting at Ponoka is unresolved.

I have been talking with some and are working through some details to do IDPA at Spruce Grove club with WRAS this summer.

I will keep you informed as it develops.

Robert

As an IDPA shooter and Club contact in Ontario I can say that I am happy that it your not completely boned for shooting IDPA. On the other hand, do you have a rocky relationship with your exec, perhaps finding some one else who is interested in doing IDPA to take on the elected position.

The problem seems to be that not enough hand gun shooters are showing up at the monthly meetings to defend their sport.....get hold of the hand gun shooters in your club , and ask them to attend the monthly meetings if they want to preserve their sport at the club.....work the phones as they say....
