9mm Noob reload question

Is it ok to use 125grn bullet info for 124grn bullets? I have the lyman 49th edition book and it doesn't have 124grn info. I would assume its ok but I just want to make sure?

Depends on the type, match RN to RN or TN to TN etc. OAL is important due to pressure changes in such a small case.

Take a look at the powder makers load data on line for the powder you use. The 1gr of bullet weight won't matter much, but depending on the type of bullet you might notice a considerable difference in the amount of powder.
There might be a big change in bullet length too..

One grain difference is not a big deal. However don't interchange load data for
lead bullets and copper jacketed ones.

sorry I should have said bullet type. Iam going to be using Berrys CMJRN 124grn

Yes you can use the data for different bullet types and weights as long as it's close in weight 5grs give or take.

With regards to bullet type, it doesn't matter as long as you use common sense. If the data is for a flat nose and your using round nose, obviously the over all length is going being to be different. Start low and work your way up with powder charges.

The 5 grain rule is a very good one . You will often have to make your own data by working loads and lengths up as its rare to find data in the same weight and bullet style.
