KCI glock 17 mags

I've tried KCI mags and the three I got wouldn't drop free like a normal Glock magazine would. They were also harder to handload without the mag loader and I had so slap one very hard into place for it to stay in the mag well.

I'll stick to OEM Glock products

I bought KCI mags. They were almost half the price...... In the end you pay for what you get. I started to have FTF with a Glock that have been 100% reliable in the past. Now I stick to OEM mags ;)

You get what you pay for. KCI (or any other Korean) mags have weaker springs, lousy finish and occasionally rough mag body interiors. Glock OEM mags are pricey, but they work.

I am going to be the voice of dissent here, but only a bit. A buddy has a number of KCI mags for his G17. So far they have been trouble free and have run 100%, but he doesn't shoot it that much and may have gotten lucky to this point. I just bought some G19 mags to try and can say they are definitely lower quality than OEM Glock mags. I haven't had time to try them yet, but it is clear you do get what you pay for in this case even if they run fine for me.

I bought KCI 10/33 and threw a 10/17 on the order to try... They were "OK", but certainly feel cheaper. I suspect they will break down with frequent use.

Subsequent purchases have all been OEM, despite the greater cost.

I bought a couple and they worked OK. The feed lips were rough on the underside & I smoothed them out with fine emery cloth which helped feeding reliability. Sometimes the interior of these mags have plastic flashings which interfere with spring movement. Mine didn't have this but some do. If you doctor these mags up they aren't bad but factory Glocks are still better.

Are these KCI (G17/G22) mags reliable in the JR Carbine/Thureon Defense carbines (I have .40)? Maybe the rifles wouldn't be as effected by a lesser product as a pistol would. Anyone try them in their carbine?

Thanks.

Problem is, KCI is the only one making 10/17 mags now. I like having SHTF mags and I know that with a KCI I am a rivet gun away from full cap. Glock OEM is truly 10 round limit.

The 10/33s run ok in my JR. Certainly no jamming or FTF issues. They don't drop free (or insert well when new) so I had to sand the exterior of them down a bit.
