KCI glock 17 mags

While I haven't had any issues with KCI magazines, I bought them when it was impossible to get Glock OEM. Seeing as there is only a $8 difference where I shop, I stick with GLOCK OEM. KCIs would have to be MUCH cheaper for me to consider them again

The 10/33s run ok in my JR. Certainly no jamming or FTF issues. They don't drop free (or insert well when new) so I had to sand the exterior of them down a bit.

That's good to know. Seems the consensus is that these need a little work to be reliable and the fit/finish is not as good as OEM...

Is there a source for genuine Glock OEM 17 or 22 mags that you guys know of, at a reasonable price?

Stick to the Glock mags as everyone mentioned.

Had 3 - from 3 different shops to try them out.

2 of them, I could only fit 6 or 7 rounds. Even with a speed loader couldn't get them in. Modified the spring to be able to put 10 in, but got sporatic FTE/FTF problems. 1 of them didn't have the problem I mentioned, but I occasionally get a FTF or FTE.

All of my glock mags (10+) so far have been 100% reliable.

OEM Glock 17 mags are everywhere, what is hard to find is Glock 10/17 OEM Mags. Those list on EE sometimes for near $70 a piece.

If you want the 10/17 SHTF ability with Glock reliability buy KCI mags and spend the difference on an OEM Glock follower, base plate and even springs. It will cost about the same as a normal OEM mag.

For the record though I have plenty of KCI mags, in fact I just got three more in the mail today. While they do have a slightly "cheaper" feel, they work just as fine in my experience. Maybe change the follower if I ever get to it but that's it.

Have only one OEM glock mag, so picked up a couple KCI for a deal, if I could go back I would pay the premium and get the real deal. They seem to fit all right but tough to load and don't perform the same. Buy two flocks, not 3 KCI's

ive got OEM and KCI. the KCI feel cheaper, have a weaker spring and needed the flashing trimmed where the plastic mold seams were. i have no clue how many rounds ive got through them but not a single function issue. i dont even really pay attention to which mags i grab when i go to the range because they all work. also, very good job on pinning them.
i use magpul ranger plates on both oem and kci mags.

I have a couple of Glock 10/17 mags, wish I bought more at the time.

Anyways, I think I will give that a try on one of my KCI mags and replace parts instead of modifying. For me, the main reason wouldn't be for SHTF, but for shooting in the states. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered with the KCI.

Sure they are avalaible, but you have to know the right guy...... I just bought 2 new 10/33 OEM Glock mags. They cost a premium, but it's like everything else. " if you have the money, someone can find it ;)"

Yea I'm not going to bend over and pay x4 the cost for something that isn't actually scarce in any way and 40km to the south of here people pay $30 for.

In all reality though KCI has seriously stepped up their game and if you buy any new batch your getting solid product for the money. They make mags and other things for the South Korean millitary, sounds good enough for me.

Irunguns usually has pinned factory mags. I got a bunch for my P226. They don't seem to have any Glock ones right now though.

Quick Glock mag question, are the factory 10 rounders springs and the KCI 10/17 springs interchangeable?

Doubt it as the OEM Glock 10 round mags are built with that in mind, that they will only ever fit 10 rounds. It's not a full size 17 round mag spring.

Are these KCI (G17/G22) mags reliable in the JR Carbine/Thureon Defense carbines (I have .40)? Maybe the rifles wouldn't be as effected by a lesser product as a pistol would. Anyone try them in their carbine?

Thanks.

I have the KCI 10/33 & 10/17 mags and have run them without issues in my 9mm JR.
