How much work was required for getting the beo mag to work? Been tempted to get one but for some reason modifying it seems like it may be of dubious legality. Just my thoughts.

EDIT: I would also be a little careful with that charging handle setup. You're placing torsional strain in a place that wasn't designed for it.
See: the t97.ca FTU. They seemed to have thought that setup was necessary to avoid that strain.

There's plenty of info on the beowulf mags about legality. Perfectly acceptable, it just happens to accept 223 rds. Just takes a bit of elbow grease, sand and fit, sand and fit. Correction, it does drop free but only on a closed bolt. Have to pull slightly on an open bolt.

I can't see any problems with installing a horizontal charging handle. The oprod spring is fairly weak and doesn't take much to #### it. There's a local outfit who has done the same thing, I've seen and handled one of their jobs. They used a smaller diameter handle and it spins on a rod rather than mine which is stationary. Time will tell.

Just add a dab of locktite.
Plus you know what they say about great minds eh touch ;)

Have to agree it is a little bulbous but it fits the hand much nicer than a straight thin handle. It was designed for the 1919A4 so some thought was put into it and I know that's a big gun but it's what I had left over.

Really no different than my CZ/VZ and my AK (back in the day) except handle is on the right side. If I was a lefty, guess I'd have the same concern plus the flying brass. With the red dot, my chin is just to the left top of the stock so my face is up and behind. It's not even noticeable while shooting (just like the CZ/VZ), it's too fast. All you notice is the kick and fireball.
