Very nice shooting! Glad to see someone else posting their results with IMR 4895 (most data I see posted is with varget).

Here's one for y'all...
Speer 160gn Spitzer boat tail with IMR4895 from a Savage 116 stainlees 7mm Rem Mag
5 shot group at 100 yards was a ragged hole completely covered by a dime. Not sure if I can figure out how to post the pic...
It was on a cold calm Alberta morning.
The exact powder load is in my reload notebook.
I've only shot that well once! Did I truly rock it out that morning or did all my errors fluke and cancel out towards center?
I'm willing to bet on the latter.
That rifle repeatably shoots 3/4 MOA and I'd say the 0.4moa was a fluke.

But I really enjoyed breaking in that Savage with cheap ammo next to a guy who spent thousands on a Sako .338LM that was shooting 6moa @ 100 yards beside my 1 inch groups with a cheap rifle:)

Not to say that Sako makes crap, quite the opposite is true. But no amount of money can make up for a lousy shooter who set up his equipment incorrectly!

Here we are in the Precision Rifle thread where the OP has showed us his recent target that is absolutely great.
Dont bother to encourage the OP to continue his and all of us in the Precision Rifle forum the quest for the tightest group possible. Thats just the way the precision group of shooters are!!!! Beat the guy down, beat his gun down and chastise his target. Who are we to judge? WTF!!!:kickInTheNuts:

To the OP, fantastic shooting and i hope you continue with your continue your to become the best that you and your available firearms can be.

You're trying to stir up ##### where there isn't any to be found. No one here has said anything about the advantages of a custom rifle over a stock rifle and no one is slagging Savages for that matter either. And there are no "experts" here making the claims you suggest.

Oh, and what's your line of work that allows you to enjoy shooting the rifles that you say you do?

I'd challenge your assertion that a .308 Win. is just as easy to hit @ 1,000 yards as a .338 Lapua (assuming of course the shooter can handle the recoil of the much larger round). Do the math on the wind drift and get back to us on that.

If that's what he was going for (and I don't think he was) then you bit hook, line and sinker

So are the boy's just grumpy cause it's to cold to get out shootin , It's gona be a long winter !!!

good shootin Gregb.

Who's beating down his groups or rifle? No one is beating the OP down, or his group, or his rifle in this thread.

Apparently not as much as you think making the comments you did. With all your "expertise" on the matter, I would think you'd know enough to realize what your basing your conclusions on is an apples to oranges comparison.

I have been out shooting with Swissin so have other CGNers rest assured we are having a good laugh at your expense LMFAO!

I would take him up on the shooting lessons! But we know that won't happen because you already know it all:rolleyes: CGN super sniper!

Wow guys, talk about hijacking a thread...

Just once I'd like to see someone post a great target like this, that they are clearly very proud of, and not see half of the comments be either negative or have nothing at all to do with the OP. The guy shot an incredible group, why can't everyone just say congratulations and move on??

Can't wait for my savage to come yay!

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Savage 10TR!
My skinny barrel 116 is sub moa and not advertised as such. I'm looking forward to shooting a Savage that IS rated sub moa!
I saw a review on the 10TR where it was shooting sub 1/2 moa with 165gn bullets, I'd be happy with that.
If I got groups like what are posted in this thread, I would be inventing new ways to high five myself ;)
BTW, excellent shooting. You've made many people jealous and a lot of them express their overwhelming envy with trash talk.

Never mind the bollucks!

Where's the trash talk? Aside from one comment made, the OP's rifle and results have not been criticized at all. Clearly, some of you making these claims haven't fully read the thread.

Now you're critcizing my criticism of previous critcism.
This started out as a nice little thread about 1/4moa shooting, but now it's just gotten silly!

Why is it that threads must be derailed?
Might be back later to tidy it up, and then reopen it.

OP - nice groups! Thanks for sharing!
