18.5" is nothing, a gunsmith can cut the barrel that short. Make it ~16"

Even if it cost a bit more, I'd be really interested if the Savage had the "accustock" as well as the "accutrigger". I have been looking at the Savage carbine in .308, but this looks like a much better deal.

Add iron sights and it would be perfect. What sort of accuracy do you expect with a 18.5" barrel? Pre-order or deposit?

I'd take the Stevens if it came in a heavy barrel without iron sights. Good drop in for an LSS
