Non restricted ACR coming to canada finally!!

I'm actually supprise this is the 1st (and only) thread on this in this section - the dealer's section have threads going on for pages long already!

Great to see another NR black rifle making it into Canada. The NR conversion (total cost considered) just doesn't make any sense at all to me, but one selling for the same price as the Restricted model is pretty good - grated the configuration is quite different, the NR being a DMR-based rifle, but still.

I'd rather have the conversion nr barrel, and a factory 12.5".
Idea there is the conversion barrel is going to be a lot higher quality, and thus more accurate, than the factory bushmaster nr barrel.
And one wouldn't feel bad about spamming norinco ammo, or the like, through the 12.5" factory barrel while running drills.

No question that a Kreiger barrel w/ a machined-in flash hider will be a higher quality barrel then a stock bushmaster barrel.

At close to $4k total ($2800 + taxes + $1k conversion), the ACR is not worth all of that financial investment IMO (the fact that it's NR shouldn't be part of its evaluation, I'm strickly taking parts/design/quality here). If you're going to tell me that it should be part of it, then as a restricted firearm, one can do much better IMO for $2,800.

Furthermore, you can't just swap out the barrel at the range one day and reinstall the NR lenght barrel (which everone it may be) when you're done.

But then again, its not my $4k and you can certainly do with it as you see fit :)

Saw on Facebook this this morning SFRC is taking pre-orders. Expected delivery June 2014. Great news! Decent price compared to having a restricted re-barreled.

Now the question is at that price what would you choose XCR or ACR?

wow, now thats awesome news.

You're actually comparing XCR to an ACR or are you sarcastic? Cause the choice is frigging obvious on this one.

Oh you bet, I know what I'm in for there.
Already have a decent selection of $4000+ restricteds, and non restricted bolt guns. Variety is the spice of life !
I just want to see what the acr is really capable of accuracy wise, and feel that the stock bushmaster barrel will provide a poor representation of that.
I'm just sad they aren't selling the 10.5" variant currently.

$4k for a converted ACR w/ 4x32 ACOG was completely worth the money. It's fun accurate and rides with me everytime I venture out into the country/bush. Best firearm I've purchased

Choice is obvious when it comes to accuracy.
Other than that... I can't see where acr is better?
At least for xcr, you can quick change barrel for different calibre.
For bushmaster acr... It is advertised as quick change barrel, but they don't see coversion kits for different caliber?

Mm DMR heavy barrel setup on already front heavy setup?

Very long rifle with the fixed stock setup.

This was posted in another section of cgn...
