M-39's rising value

I thought that import of weapons, the United states was more in the $ 300/350 + Canadian taxes

I wanted to import a sniper mas 49 and it is the price that an importer told me
Not to mention that there was problem for the scope

what do you do with importing business for $ 200?

I think some people aren't quite getting it, yet: Supply and demand. There were only 102 000 M39s built all told, roughly 6500 of those in straight stock, to WAY higher standard than the Russian rifles. They were surplused in the States. They are gone, mostly sold. There are no more big batches coming, ever.

The only thing left is the collector's market, and a few dregs here and there. There are not that many in Canada.

That, and they're an awesome rifle, accurate, tough as nails, with good sights, and nigh indestructible, plus they use cheap ammo :D

Get used to the high prices.

PM sent.

The asking price is a bit steep for the pair of M39's on EE, but if the first one had a better stock (not cracked at tang and a more defined Sako gear wheel cartouche on the butt) I'd be a buyer at $800. If the second one had a better barrel I'd pay the asking price too. Personally, I think that they should sell in the $500 to $600 range. The great thing about Finn Mosins is that there's plenty of variation for the collector and amazing battle history. Finn Mosins are going to keep going up in value - you can bank on that. The legendary Simo Hayha used the M28, and possibly the improved M28/30.

The asking price on M-39's is sure rocketing upward isn't it?
Are they worth the extra $$$?
I picked up two M-39's and an M-96 swede from a cousin in Vegas about 4 years back for in the neighbourhood of 1000$ ( all in) and it seems as though at least this investment is paying off.
Think they will catch and pass the Mauser 98's in value?
Pretty tough to catch the Garands though.
Any thoughts on this? Inflated value or not?

The straight stocked M39 is only worth $1000 if someone willing to pay that much for one. I'd rather invest it on some other milsurp.

milsurp what you would prefer for $ 1,000?
as scarce
as accurate
and with much history as the Finnish rifles, if it matters for a milsurp!

for some it does not matter and I understand that the gun is expensive
all take a 91/30 160 with shipping in westrifle
