remington 5r .308 removeable mag?

Accurate Action has their Kwik Klip system, that's a drop in kit and the kit comes with a single 5 round mag, no in-letting needed. Wolverine Supplies carries the badger ordnance bottom metal kit (not sure if mag is included), this one requires in-letting your stock. They have another obscure bottom metal kit that does not include a mag, not sure about that one though, looks like it requires additional parts.

If you can find them, the HS Precision is basically a drop in for the Remington BDL as well (first generation anyway, not sure about second). The mags fit well with less play than the AI style that I have on other rifles (Badger, PTG and one for a Tikka- can't remember brand). This shows the 10 rd. mag.

That's the most content deprived website in the industry. All I wanted to know, is it drop in and accepts AI mags?

Having installed a few, NO they are NOT a drop in, there is not only re-inletting of the stock required but also minor modification required to the action.
That being said the same is true for our own in-house made DBM kit as well as badger. All of which employ the AICS mags.

I have a badger ordnance bottom metal that takes single stack AI mags for mine. Bought it from Jerry Teo at Mystic Precision for just under $200. The magazine does rattle a bit though. But to fix that all I did was put a layer of hockey sock tape (electrical tape works too) around the mag where it would contact the bottom metal. Voila, the magazine rattle is gone. I could have purchased a 'better machined' bottom metal with tighter tolerances and not have to put tape on my mags, but tape is under $5 and a tighter tolerance bottom metal is under $500. I am no mathematician, but I think $5 + $200 is less than $500.

PT&G now has a "drop in" bottom metal kit for the rem700, I believe it uses a AI AE mag.

I don't think that the Kwik Klip is a drop in for short action 700s. Just LA.

Atlasworx from australia makes a very nice bottom metal that uses ai mags for short action remmies. Excellent quality, easy shipping and only minimal inletting that handy folk can do by hand.

I did it and prefer it by far over the very overpriced options already mention. I'll pay for quality, but not gouginess.

I can second the quality of the Atlasworx bottom metal. They also anodize in silver so it matches the 5R barrel and action. I haven't inlet mine yet but it doesn't look like much material needs to be removed.

I installed a PT&G in one of my competition rifles, which uses the AICS pattern magazine. This was not a drop in - lots of inletting required. Works well.
If they make a newer version that is a drop in, great.

Another option you might consider is a MDT TAC21 chassis system, or their new LSS.

Does your Remington have a HS stock?

Who sells a detachable mag kit for $200??

The Atlasworx was $150 or delivered. No magazine included but it came with new action bolts and bedding posts. I know it is available in Black and silver (they may call it grey) but they may do custom colours because they are basically an aluminum shop.

I had ptg sitting and waiting but I just sold it because I realized that with the cost of the bottom metal + the cost of the new stock + the inlet I might as well throw in a little more and go with a tac 21. I've drooled over that chassis for over a year and its almost a reality, the chassis should be on its way!

There is also the Wyatt bottom metal that I used a few years back for my HS precision that was inletted for a standard Remington BDL. They use a propriety magazine box, but it is of good quality and works well.
