Match grade barrels in Canada

I've had good luck with Ron Smith barrels.

Prices have gone up though so I just finished ordering a Shilen barrel through Brownells.

I PMed Venom this is what he had to say

is a retreat gunsmith work in Montréal long time ago , is work are soo legendary .
too many people demand him to make barrel he return and make it on demand utile he can not longuer made it .

Is the one make the barrel of many champion shooter , like Louis Strach , he is a polish shooter here in Québec state , he work now in Cop school in the town of Nicolet .
he is one of the best shooter ever see , not because of is speed but because of is accuracy . Mr.Jacque Rioux from La tuque , was one of the champion of canada . He shoot at 1500 fps with sharps rifle barreled with the match grade octagonal barrel of Mr.Bessette . That was in 1972 . Mr.Bessette was gunsmith at is shop in montreal for many year .
Never wanted to be Know , is a Humble man . But i think , and i am not the only one think that , Mr.Bessette make the finest rifle barrel in Canada , maybe Usa too .
Is price are very low . Just to know when i buy my barrel last time he give me waranty on if i not shoot 0.80 inch group or less with .45-100 sharps , i will be refund , and with lead bullet 1 inch .

Just to know i not have to be refund m 0.75" 3 shot with a .45-100 sharps , with my Shiloh sharps i can get better group than 1.25" with same load and same ammo .

I bought one lst year because it was my first chambering job and I did not want to screwup a more expensive blank

it turned out that the first 50 rounds built cupper like hell, but it now have about 350 and it is just like any other barrel I have

using a harris bipod and a sand bag, I can shoot 5 shots groups Under 3'' at 600 yards
and holes were often touching with match factory amo at 150 yards
I am not a competition shooter, I just shoot where I can in sand pits or at my camp

Bob Jury Makes beautiful cut rifled barrels based out of Red Deer. I have not personally shot one but know lots of guys shooting them over on Alberta Outdoorsmen forum. Custom Gunworx puts a lot of his barrels on, including his own f-class rig and it's a shooter for sure.

I will definitely buy one for my next build.

I agree with the sticki, I'll be needing one as soon as I can spare some money. Having a Canadian manufacturer list stickied would be very nice
