So every car running on the road today are the copy of the Ford or M-Benz because they all still have 4 wheels ?? xD

And all hand guns now days are copy of the 1911

Why bother to choose and compare because they are all the same lol

The fact that Stoner's AR-18 system could be adapted so easily to eject from both sides is a testament to the original design.

If I wanted a thin barrel I'd go back to the 70s and buy a mini14(I'm just kidding)

Unnecessary weight is the 18.5" barrel that the government dictates that we must have to be non-res
I'd go the heavier barrel rifle for it's (hopefully) better accuracy.

I am assuming that it gets the non restricted nod next year. It has been in for review for close to 8 months now.

Current backlog with the firearms lab is 18 months. If they don't like it they can and will either poke and prod it longer jamming Popsicle sticks and duct tape into it or if they really really don't like it then it can be put on the shelf to collect dust.

I'd go with the one that's a sure thing and available for purchase. Why take a chance?

Why is everyone trying to chase after the accuracy game with semi autos based off SERVICE RIFLES. even the best like mr223 with its piglike barrel is a .75 moa gun at best. The swiss doesnt have the fattest barrel and most were tested to approximately 1 moa. If you want accuracy and have to have a semi auto buy a sl8 and be done with it, if you want accuracy and have sense buy a bolt action.

The SL8 is ugly. You got to take into account fashion, and fast follow up shots.

Laugh2

Sub moa(or so I assume by "accurate") and fast follow up shots. Are those not contradictory? Fashion?

You guys stole all my cheddar! Now how am I supposed to make macaroni and cheese?

Mozzarella. With some rosemary and chives in there, along with some dried chilli seeds. Works better than you think. :)

Speaking of this cheesy business, how much will an arx100 set one back, if it gets approved? IIRC in the us they are 2k ish. I wonder how much they would be up here. I am guessing 3+ because welcome to canada 1k gouging tax.

What are your accuracy expectations that make you think the chubbier barrel will give superior accuracy? And what level of accuracy are you looking for?

And if you are so worried about accuracy why not go with the most accurate non res semi auto the sl8? You said they are ugly. And that you are looking for fast follow up shots. <- that in itself makes no sense, are you talking about shooting from the bench? prone? Off shoulder? If it's the last one they are all equally accurate, because the limiting factor is the shooter.

Not sure what you are looking for that justifies the heavier barrel.

Not that I have a stake in either, just trying to figure out your reasoning. The arx100 is 100% unproven, and I have not seen a berretta rifle of recent times that have been impressive. So it's on this rifle to prove itself. The acr, IIRC had cracking receiver issues, not sure if it got resolved, what drives me away from this rifle is the absurd cost* and ridiculous weight.

* I have no clue how much the burrito will cost either so that maybe a factor for that as well.

SU16, thin barrel, poor shooter. Mini14s with the thin barrels, poor shooters(corrected in part by thicker barrel). I want close to 1moa, as it will be shot off any and all positions. You want a fast follow shot, if you are hunting, miss or have multiple targets(coyotes) and the positions you are shooting from are likely to a be varied. And so, you want the bulelt to go where the cross hairs are because you may not be in the best position to take an accurate shot, you may be a couple inches off the best point of aim, and if the rifle is 3moa the shot could be a total miss.

Well the Benelli MR1 has a pencil thin barrel. It's accuracy is pretty good for what it is and I haven't heard much of anything about shot stringing when the barrel heats up. Mind you though I wouldn't call it a tack driver or a sniper's firearm by any means. However it is better then a lot of the semis auto black rifles we have in Canada accuracy wise.

Since Beretta owns Benelli, Beretta should be able to at least match or even improve apon the MR1's accuracy despite the fact they are not heavy profile barrels. I would hope anyways. Only time will tell.
