Hi all,

Is there a good entry level semi auto non-restricted rifle under 1000$? I'd like to find one in a cheap caliber like .223 or 9mm. I know there is the CX4, but I'm not sure if they make a non-restricted version. The type 97 is around 1000. That's actualy all I know... I'd use the rifle for pling most of the time so ultimate accuracy isn't a must. Thank you for your help.

I know there is the sks but I want a black rifle, and this is why I posted this thread in the black and green rifle forum. Most of my friends who doesn't own a pal are big fan of tactical looking rifle, so I'd like to at least get one so it can bring them to the range more often.

I am a reloader as well, if this information matter at all.

There is a non restricted version of the cx4 offered by the shooting centre coming soon.
Email them for price or to pre-order/reserve info@theshootingcentre.com

JRcarbine, is under 1000$, is an AR lookalike, accepts all AR tacticool stuff, offered in 9mm 40cal 45cal

Vz58 - Black, AKish, cheapish, may as well get one in 762x39 though.

Probably run you just under that $1000 mark. If it's just to impress your buddies an AK lookalike such as this could blow their minds. NR in the 18.5" barrel model. Plus 7.62x39 surplus is cheap like borsch, just be sure to clean the gun properly after. (Hot water IMO, but others may argue that)

I think you're gonna end up looking at either the T97 or one of the pistol calibre (JRC, CX4 TD??) Can't really think of much else - unless you go red instead of black...

Edit - maybe a used Benelli MR-1??

At that price point, I'd think .223 - T97, 9mm - JR Carbine.

JRC prolly easier to ad tacti-cool stuff. T97, prolly better for slightly longer range being .223.

Get 1 of both ;)

The $ goes in front of the numbers not behind.

As for sub a grand rifles, your choices are very limited. Increase your budget and really define what you want so you don't get side tracked in sourcing a rifle.

Tdc

JRC or SU16 or CZ/VZ

- under $1000
- non-res
- can tacticool as much as you want for your buddies to shoot for sh1tz & giggles
- if it's to help get your buddies into shooting, then probably a rifle caliber would be better to simulate COD

Actually it can go either way. His post says "1000 dollars" if the symbol is written out.

Plus, many countries place the monetary symbol after the numbers.

Ok, but he used a symbol. Not a word. And we're in Canada, where we put the symbol before the number.

Also I didn't know the T97 was under grand. Cool.

Try a Keltec SU16 $799 in .223 (currently waiting for new shipment). Yes the CX4 is coming in non restricted but not here yet. Phil.
