Well.... I think you are giving up all this:
-Interchangeable side AND back straps. Not only back straps like Mp.
- From Factory stippled grip. MP does not have stippling and it is rather slippery.
- Iron glow in the dark sights. MP front sight is known for loosing its white dot over time = garbage.
- Completely ambidextrous without moving or switching parts around like the mag release on the MP. MP has to be moved either to the right or left, so it is not completely ambi so it is either or.
- Paddle release instead of button release.
- Proven reliability with a torture test 90k rounds (pistol-training dot com)
- Good trigger out the box (lem)
- Excellent workmanship, machining and barrel fit.
- Test fired gun that comes with a test target from factory at 15 meters, signed by tester.
- German quality.
This is not a VS thread, so I am stopping here.
The glowy irons of the p30 out of the box are ####, those phosphorous sights suck balls. Either way I would go with trijicon hd so sights is a no advantage
Most people are used to the button release.
M&Ps are more than reliable enough for most people.
While the trigger on m&ps are worse than a loose hooker out of the box it is more forgiving than a p30 trigger. Now that is an excuse used by people but it is true.
Before you label me as a hater, my first pistol is a P30L V1 light lem, and my second pistol is a USP9 V1, and my third pistol is a smith m&p22 made by walther. I am not what you would call a HK hater. But simple fact is, they are expensive guns. Just like other polymers are brutal about displaying poor form especially the P30. And magazines from them unless you know some people are bloody expensive.
The M&P range kit is a high value package. it includes 4 mags a mag loader and a holster for 700 bucks. My money would still go to a glock gen 3 at 700 plus a couple hundred for some extra mags.
Now whether you want to spend that extra money on the best pistol is up to you. I did, sounds like you did as well. I say the p30l is the best 9mm out there. Others will disagree. That's my take on it.
M&P is a decent pistol. Lightyears ahead of their other garbage.
As for trying to convince these knobs about quality, comeon, this is the fanclub of chinese garbage, and sks and other pieces of sh*t, chuck out a challenge see who will take on your p30. Guess what? I just about gurantee you no one will take you up on that. It's e commandos. Big talk, nothing to back it up. This is not where you want to try and convince people of what is a quality product. The lemmings will blindly follow their 'murican stuff for the 20%, and their kung-pao ginger beef guns for the other 79.99% of them.
