Dotted line on some pistol brass?

Just wondering what the dotted line is for on some 9 mm brass? The line is just around the base of the bullet. This line is from factory and not resized.
 
crimp in the case to stop the bullet from sliding farther into the case and causing a over pressure ka-boom

Hey I can see why he's still looking for a definitive answer,Those threads all appear to have guys that are not sure, but want to be the keyboard cowboy and answer the question.Let me know when you find a credible answer?

Those are all credible/logical to me, if you want better then that call the manufacturer and see what you can find..

Prevents the bullet from getting pushed further into the case.
