Some new double badgers are coming out

The x-caliber really caught my attention, that looks like a survival tool. 12ga over 22lr with 8 different caliber inserts for the 12ga barrel.

$700 is a little steep. I wonder if they will have an option without all of the 8 inserts. I would probably like 2, the other 6 are unnecessary in my opinion.

Good that those inserts are nice and long.... solves the problems of the more common short ones. Wonder if they're rifled? That would make for a pretty versatile piece of kit....

It's nice that a company is actually doing this though. When i heard of the savage 42 i got excited that it may be offered in the range of options the older 24's were, but i've so far been dissapointed that it's only been 22/410 and 22mag/410.
I agree, a wood option would be nice, but even the black plastic they had looks better than the savage 42.

Wood stocks might be nice but these arent being sold with the "good old days" wood guys in mind. Synthetic stocks are much more versatile on a survival rifle. Impervious to weather and also lighter.
Don't forget they still make the wood double badger in the non survival type
