Anyone try SFRC's SVT40 tool?

I'm hoping they work well. They're reproductions and have the ability to remove the muzzle break, which is a definitive plus. Too bad about the shipping, but as a group buy it should work out nicely!

I picked one up and it works fairly well. On one of my SVT's the gas adjustment er.. end, is a little rounded and finikey to slip it on, but other than that they're great. It's nice to have a proper tool to get the end off the muzzle break to swab it out too.

Be very careful if you take the end of the brake off! They are very fine threads and mine had 2 punch indents in it that made it very very hard to thread it back on without crossthreading.

Took alot of patience and a lot of tries to get it back on. I finally just had to trust that I got it just barely started right then committed to cranking on it to get it by the punch indents. Luckily I had got it right.

The tool itself seems to work fine if you need one. The gas system on my SVT looks all brand new and is very tight so the tool for me came in very handy.

Thx for the info.

I have an email reminder set up for their $99 deal on 400 rounds of Chinese surplus 7.62x54r (which shoots fine in my 2 SVTs and my 2 Mosin Nagants) so I'll add the tool on that order and save some shipping.

Cheers !!

A wrench from crappy tire works great no need to buy an after market non original for the price of 2 full sets of wrenches. I'm on a budget sorry for the Mr. Cheap comments. Times are tuff in Canada right now and should hit the rest of you soon.

I was going to get one a few months ago but with shipping the price was unreasonable. I just wanted to be able to take off the end of the muzzle brake for cleaning.

Sorry to hear about your economic woe... would have been better if the CPC had not put all of Canada's eggs into one basket.

Hope things improve soon.

I have one but to be honest I've not shot my SVT since getting it.

The brake wrench works fine. I also have the tool that P&S sells and it works fine
