Looking for some help, did some research as well, but maybe I missed something. For .308 cal, budget max $500, no Bushnell, Redfield, is there anything else available. I saw Vortex, bit only model available is illuminated, hoping to get mildot.

Weaver makes a 2.5 to 10 with target turrets, side parallax and illumination. Sells for about $ 250.00.
Redfield makes the $ 233.00 called he battle zone. Comes with .223 and .308 turrets.

Not trying to sound cheap, but those brands can hold .308 cal?

Posted this on another thread and think it's appropriate here
Meopta Artemis 2000 3-12x50 $630
MEOPTA uses german schott glass, same as S&b.Some say the best glass.
Meopta makes the glass and some of the parts for the ziess conquest line.
They also make the glass and parts for IOR VALDADA.
They make SFP and FFP scopes,
They are put together in new york.

Mine is a ZD TACTIC 3-12x50 FFP illuminated target turrets.
Clearer than my leupold, and the same as my old ziess and ior.
Reviews say clearer than NF and extremely rugged and repeatable.

Do some research on meopta, you will be suprised at how much scope you can buy for $600.
I have seen some for sale on either this site or alberta outdoorsman.

Every option should be looked at when spending that much money.
SEASON'S GREETINGS...

Leupold Mark AR makes a 3-9 with turrets and within your budget I'm almost positive.

It's pretty close depending on model.

I have the mark ar mod 1 3-9x40 with mildots on my Rem700 in .308, it was just under $500 all in I think. It's a nice scope. I do believe that Leupold will make you a personalized set of turrets if you so desire for about $60. Haven't done that myself yet because I'm not hardcore enough.

You need to look at where the scopes are made if you want a good indicator of what quality you can expect. Bushnell for instance make scopes in China/Korea/Japan....Elite line is made in Japan and quite good.
Redfield Revolution line is made in the USA which is a good thing, Battlezone and Revenge made in the Philipines....lots of companies have scopes made in the Philipines...Nikon/Burris/Vortex Viper and Diamondback line, they are OK but below Japan or US made lines.
The Weaver Kaspa mentioned is made in China.
Buy Philipines at minimum, USA or Japan won't give you any problems either, China is not up to par on optics....
