I picked up a Israeli K98 from a local gun store here and with open sights the rifle shoots really well to the point that I figure a scope would put it over the top. Now none of the numbers match and being an Israeli 7.62 model I figured I won't be wrecking anything. I'm not looking to create a 100% WWII sniper rifle clone. I'd like a scope that can elevation and windage adjustments.
Now the scope rings I would like to get are like these:
I like the split rings due to ease of changing the scope.
As for the scope I'd like to find something "old looking" but like I said, has the elevation and windage adjustments.
On my grandfather's Parker Hale Safari in .308 Norma Magnum (Which is interesting since the rifle is built using a Mauser action!) he has a old Ruko model-AA x6 mono tube. It has that sort of look to it.
The scope fits my needs, it looks "old", it's a fixed 6 power, and was decent enough to never need sighting in and went to the bottom of a lake in the early morning, fished out, and shot a moose that afternoon
