Caramel how the stock feel compare to a Mcmillan ?

I had the McMillan on my Creedmoor and with my shorth experience with it i would say one and another feel the same, the new Sig stock is very comfy, and if i would have to say something since i move my trigger backward on my 3000 ( you can change the position to the front or the back), it may be more of a natural stance for long wait with you finger on the trigger... JP.

They shoot a test target in GERMANY...
The only thing "assembled" in the US is the stock.
Which parts and barrel are different? There are different barrels which are both "made in Germany" and the same length?
Not trying to be a smart a** here, but I was told by one of the top guys in the SIG rifle dept.

how is the rifle test fired in germany without stock? Is it a true measure of accuracy if the stock is installed later?

what is there for them to "assemble" the stock in the USA as your above post suggests?

My understanding is because I asked these very same questions Of SIG USA and SIG Germany before I bought a German sig is that even though some of the parts are made in germany for the US sig, all assembly, fitting, etc is done in the USA, If it was not they could not sell them in the USA. Just like how HK, Steyr, CZ, etc have all set up plants in the US to get around USA import restrictions. I myself don't understand why the american government requires a certain number of parts to be manufactured in the USA on every firearm to be eligible for sale there but I have seen this issue come up many times on US forums when americans want to buy firearms from other countries.

On the pic the stock look more like light composite i would say B&C stock. I have owned couples of Mcmillan A4 and 5 and this tough to be better in my mind. Very solid feel and comfortable.

Yes this is nice to have a fully adjustable trigger the european like that, i had the same on a blaser LRS2.
Have you tried to remove the barrel ?

Not easy like your nemesis but i have read that's only take 2 or 3 minutes. With the barrel adapter and a good gunsmith the possibility for a 6br and 6.5x47 papua is very attractive !!

Have you ever borescoped your German Sig ?

Maybe we can tell if a difference can be seen with the US Sig ? I would do it as soon i get mine and post what i found.

My experience with European barrel is that they are better quality than the match barrel we have here. The steel is stronger and the bore a true mirror.
Even my krieger barrel was not looking good like the Blaser.

Bought 3 BN rifles in 308 this week alone, 3 rifles that you can only have in 308 AR-10/ Sig3000/ FNAR Competition, never asked yourself why all the cool rifles are made in 308... JP.

Seriously i was mentioned that because i just saw a video of the new SSG 3000 exactly like the one that are now in Canada and the guy never talked of the switch barrel.

He passed in revue everything on the rifle but not the quick barrel aspect. So my understanding is that there are two models of the new SSG the quick change barrel and the standard one.
MD Charlton clearly stated that we have the one that quick change barrel in Canada, why i was asking if you have tried to do it.

Why be limited to one caliber if you can have a couples with the same platform ? The 6br is a different animal than the .308 for sure.

Up to 1000 metres, i personally dont need any other caliber, i'de rather put it all on one proven caliber and have all the possible models in that caliber, but other calibers have their followers and it is fine, for me the 308 is a way of life... JP.

There's no doubt the .308 Win. is an accurate cartridge but it's acceptance in the shooting community is largely due to the fact that it's a NATO standard cartridge, not it's inherent accuracy. The same thing can be said for the popularity of .223 based rifles. And long before that, you could make the same case for the popularity of the .30-06 Springfield. All of these cartridges were adopted by the military long before they had commercial sporting purposes.

It's ok that you've fallen in love with the cartridge but there are other choices for good reasons.

Not caramel, but I had the luxury of seeing both of them side by side and comparing.

Pros of patrol stock:
Lighter
More spots to mount qd sling mounts
Spots to mount a pic rail at the fore end of the stock
Better texture on the grip (like sand paper almost)
Slimmer profile on the fore stock

Pros of the McMillan:
Better cheek riser
Overall sturdier chassis with less flex

I ended up going with the McMillan stock as it will be the better shooter for target shooting. You won't be disappointed with either though.

Where are you coming up with this BS information about the lack of a quick change barrel in the US? Would you like me to provide you with a half-dozen reviews to prove otherwise? Do you think that Sig made a special run of 50 guns with quick change barells just for Canadians?

I have talked with guys in the states who told me that they have the new SSG 3000 and none of them have the quick change barrel. They told me they have not see one of the SSG with the QC barrel.
To what i know now they don't have the features.

Contact Sig and you will see they even don't know themselves.

Plastic? Yes, Cheap? No

Ask anyone who has the patrol version. Pretty sure they're all very happy. You can't go wrong with either.

There you go again, JP. Letting your emotions and pride get the better of you. I'm sure the SIG is a decent rifle for the money, however, in it's current configuration it is new and largely un-tested as far as durability, reliability, and accuracy is concerned so the jury is "out" so to speak.

The SIG is anything but "top shelf" but that doesn't mean it's not a quality rifle. It's not in the same league as a Sako TRG22 or an AI AE MkIII, which are largely considered superior rifles.

I may agree with you but those late rifles you stated are not in the same league as the Nemesis, there is always a food chain somewere and there is some at the bottom and some at the top, but this is my personal evalution, not many peoples cant do the same evalution because they are missing some facts, my assesement of the Sig is it could be on par with a TRG after we give it a good run in load devellopment, before that no way we can classified it...
