bring some surplus ammo with that and i may be interested this spring in one of that calibers
OH now don't be so glass is half empty![]()
and with the real non-corrosive surplus gone, the choices are somewhat limited.
What are you talking about, there is tons of corrosive surplus to be had.
That is because my half full glass is filled with CZ805 bitterness![]()

You're right. But 5.45 isn't significantly different from .223, performance wise. Without something to differentiate it from .223, it seems somewhat pointless.
That said, if we didn't face the Canadian price penalty for new production 5.45 (available in the US for under $0.30 a round), or had surplus 5.45 available for under $0.20 a round, I'd be all over one of these uppers.
I wouldn't say it's a novelty, there are lots of people who don't shoot surplus 7.62x39 through their rifles, they go with the hornady or the MFS etc. It boils down to what each person wants or needs this caliber for.
That is sweet. As stated hopefully we can get some surplus then a dealer will make a cz859 in 5.45 ;-)
Are these still available to be brought in?
Anyone who got one of these have some range targets of group sizes they'd like to post?
