I love my K98 in 7.62! It is more accurate that I could have hoped for with the old iron sights! Sadly she had a problem. Someone rammed something hard into the breach and caused some nasty scaring (took some chips out) right where the shoulder of the rounds sit. Because of this, once you fire a round, the bolt is hard to open because the brass if fire formed into this scarring.
The only gunsmith in town is about 3 or 4 weeks behind in his work though and isn't sure he'll be able to fix the problem. It's hard to see but it will be on the left hand side:
Here's hoping it can be repaired but I won't be getting my old battle rifle back anytime during this year for sure :-(
