It's a brand new norc 1911a1
I'm starting to beat up the screw. I've stripped the gun to this point. I've soaked it in penetrating oil. It refuses to move. Any ideas?

Thx!

It's not a screw. Push it in as you turn it to the left. Once it turns it will stay in that position and you can then push the mag release out from the left.

Yes, go out and buy a replacement. If you've applied that much pressure, it will likely fail at some point.

Rob nails the correct answer.

Thanks. I'm sure a replacement will be necessary. The problem is i can't turn it at all lol. Should i push from the left side while trying to turn the screw left?

Yes, push in the button and turn the screw 1/2 turn and is should pop out of there,

Well there ya go. Easy once helpful ppl explained it to me. Thanks everyone!

So i lapped a few parts, fully cleaned everything, and everything is soaking in a nice coat of oil for the night!

Now to look up proper lubrication and maintenance for a blued gun.

Waxing is an old duck hunters trick. You don't need wax; just keep the gun well oiled, mag release included. A drop or two inside the mag release spring channel is all you need in there.
