Anything female or male under 170" is a "meat deer", anything 170"- 180'" is "just a shooter buck", after that they get a little more resect... ( insert any amount of, or combination of expletives, as needed before each of the following) "draggy footed ol' granddaddy"..."ground pounder"( because when seen their usually in high gear), or most commonly... "that f#@$%#g ghost" that leaves those draggy footed tracks.

In Manitoba we used to call whitetails "jumpers". I've heard some guys from Saskatchewan on tv using the same term recently. "Skillet" is another term for does that I've heard.

Mulies, jumpers (tip of the hat to the oldtimers), skin-heads. I've got a few bow-hunting friends who talk about "flinging a shaft" and giggle. Don't know who they're making fun of but they seem to be enjoying it. I call the bottom post of a B&C reticle the "Infinity pin" and that has leaked over into the lexicon for Duplexs as well.

Doe = "Flat Top"
Small Buck = "Dink"
Large Buck = "Shooter" "Stud"

A white tail from a "Stud" before heading into the trees = "&&^% $#%$ %^%$#" and " &^%^ %$#@ &*&^ !!!!"

Jumpers, and the boys had a 'ghost buck' everybody in the entire hunting party missed at least once. Until I showed up and schwacked him in the lungs my first morning. Heh heh. Decent 5x5. :)

My son and I call them as such:
Doe - skinner
Fawn- little skinner
145 B&C and less - It's a dink
150 to 155 B&C - A potential (in two years time)
160 B&C Plus - He's a Shooter
