So, a couple things I wanted to touch base on here and perhaps get some feedback from those "in the know".
Number 1:
I might be losing my mind, as it has been a few years now, but I recall seeing a double barrel shotgun (12 gauge) with a third rifle barrel under the double barrels. I was told that it was from WW2 and was usually issued to bombers or at least kept it bombing aircraft.
It was somewhat interesting. It had a safety switch that would lift the rear sights when it was disabled and lower the sights when the safety was enabled.
I can't for the life of me remember the calibre of the rifled barrel, but I was told that it was obsolete.
The place that had it was asking $2500 for this gun (keep in mind this was about 7 or 8 years ago now) and it looked to be in pretty good condition and they claimed it was ready to shoot.
So first off, I'm curious if anyone here knows anything about such a WW2 firearm? Or were they misinformed and thus passing on the wrong info to me?
Number 2:
A Winchester 1897 "Trench" or "Riot" shotgun, are they somewhat collectible? Or are they a little more common than I would expect?
The 1897 I have in mind also comes with a bayonet, not sure on the year of manufacture or of any issues with usability. I was "told" that it's a WW2 era gun and fully functional and it looks to be in decent condition.
So I guess I'm also curious what an 1897 would be worth in decent condition? Perhaps someone can shed some light on this one for me.
Much appreciated!
