My Brand New Ruger GP100 6" Blued

Wow, those are nice Johnn Peterson. I love my Ruger, and the trigger is gettin' a little bit better. I wanna try and get a matte finish put on it, but since it is already blued there is kinda no point right now, might wait a while to see if the current blueing fades then get it re-done as a matte.

As for the Smith & Wesson's they have a pretty sweet barrel profile, but I like the heavy barrels on my revolver :) Actually when I when I was looking at getting this, it was between this Ruger and a Beretta (Guess I made the right choice hey ;))

I hadn't really been looking for either as I already have those calibres covered with a 4" Colt Diamondback and an early production 6" Python. However, when a shooting buddy passed away a short while ago, I picked up the SP 101 from his family who were looking after his estate issues. Then from another friend, the 'opportunity' presented itself to purchase the GP 100, for a reasonable price, so I went for it,;) to keep the SP 101 company.

love mine.

Muzzle area is always susceptible to holster on any gun. I have the stainless and there is a shine on the left side of the barrel from the holster. I have about 10 pistols and several revolvers of various makes and all show wear around the muzzle area from holster use. I also have hammers with nicks in them from use. A tool is a tool. If you want it to look new forever just don't use it ...but then that doesn't make any sense does it.

Take Care

Ha! No Bob; I'm not talking about holster wear on the sides of the muzzle, rather on the crown where the grooves and lands of the rifling exit.
