anybody name there guns and why

Only thing I do is group all my guns and call em 45 70 .example if we see a fox or beaver and have no gun ill say shoulda brought the 45 70 . I do name largest and milling machines I run. More to keep the day.intresting tho

Are you implying that a dog cares what you name it? :p

I have not named any of my guns so far. I don't imagine that I ever will unless something happens that earns one of them a nickname.

My Savage axis in .270 is "the .270"

My Svage 93r17 in 17hmr is "the .17"

I call my 12 ga "boomer" not sure why, maybe cause when my uncle told me to get the shotgun he called it the boomer. I didn't understand until he said "the shotgun"

Other then that, my guns probably wont have names until they are like 80 years old then "ol faithful" comes out...
 
I have a K31 that has 666 as the last three digits of the serial number. The 666 is also stamped on the barrel band just in front of the Swiss cross on the receiver. I named it the Samaritan. If you can recognize my avitar you know why.
 
Well, I gotta say these threads certainly are entertaining, in a grade 6 kind of way... Do you man up and call it a #####, or do you have li'l cutsie nicknames for that, too?

Probably big, manly names...right?

Dang, I am glad I am a grown-up who is comfortable with his life.
