Hi. While looking for reloading components for my .40 Glock, I came across some really good prices on DRG bullets. I can't find any info on who makes these bullets or if they are available in jacketed. It appears from what limited info I came across that these are hard-cast. From what I have read, Glocks should only be fed jacketed bullets due to their style of rifling. Can somebody enlighten me?
Thanks,
Glen

They are very good bullets, but only in lead.
Not sure about the Glock, but my STI Trojan in 40S&W loves lead bullets.

I shoot lead out of my glock all the time with much leading pending the load used. Just keep an eye on things and there won't be a problem.

I did never experience leading in my 9mm pistols (CZ, STI and Luger),
maybe there is a reason why Glock advises not to shoot lead in their pistols after all.

As a matter of fact, last Thursday I shot DRG 9mm bullets out of my CZ Shadow without the slightest trace of leading.

Yes the reason is because glocks have polygonal rifling which builds up lead when using lead bullets. If you don't clean the barrel frequently the lead build up will lead to higher pressures. Many glocks have blown up for this reason. I can get high quality copper plated bullets for $95/1000 in 9mm 124gr and $125/1000 for 40 180gr. That's cheap enough for me to stay away from lead contamination.

I'm shooting DRG bullets in 9mm, 38 SPL and 45 ACP RN and SWC. I have yet to have a leading problem. They are good projectiles IMO.

I am thinking that the DRG bullets are such good value that I will buy a replacement barrel for my Glock and shoot lead in it.
I am still not sold on using lead in a polygonal barrel. Too many horror stories.
Thanks for the input folks.

Do you shoot only outdoors? Sorry but I don't like ppl shooting lead indoors beside me. Sorta like the second hand smoke thing. A lot of indoor clubs don't have very good ventilation systems so why should I be exposed to lead vapours because someone else wants to shoot "economically"

Then wear a proper respirator or don't shoot if you don't want to be exposed....

I usually only shoot outdoors, but if you think lead is the only problem indoors you are sadly mistaken. Breathing in burnt gunpowder, copper etc. is just as bad. If I were that worried I wouldn't shoot indoors IMHO.

Guys, when will you understand?
Life is a most dangerous undertaking, and at the end, it doesn't matter what we do, we will all die from it!
