Interesting. Could be that the case was not sized down as far as it might be, and the thickened area just ahead of the extractor groove was making contact with the chamber walls.

Just out of morbid curiosity, try to apply thumb pressure next time and see where the resistance might be.
 
I load my 9mm to COAL 1.100", they would not correctly feed/chamber with a standard COAL. This was using Berry's bulk 124gr FMJRN. Shooting using both a CZ-75 and a Kimber Custom II 9mm. The Kimber is a little bit better but the CZ are known to need shorter COAL.
