$150 TacOrd 870 Wingmasters

Thanks AK and Applefarmer!

AK, if you hadn't started this thread, wouldn't have know about those beat-up, er 'character rich' 870s.

Applefarmer, if you hadn't used the magic words, 'mailing list', I might not have found out how to be alerted to their arrival.

New to me 870, c 1979. And I don't have to obsess about keeping it pretty!

Such a steal, I'm so impressed with mine as I've ranted about in several threads.. The bluing is beat and show the 33 years of service its had since being produced; but the internals are nearly new and I love the worn finish I'm not even going to refinish my metal.

yeah... a friend has offered me a nearly new stock set he took off one of his... but i don't think i want it. :)

All Casey was doing was filling orders to people who had their names in last time and missed out. And as always there are more people on the list than there are guns available.

He gets trade ins from Brinks and the like every now and then. These shotguns look like they fell off a truck, but have generally barely been shot, and are excellent project guns. A lot of them have the police style wood which a lot of people (myself included) really like, they just need re finished. So for a little elbow grease you get a shotgun that is 10 times better than any norinco.

Got two of these Wingmasters. As with all of them - finish beat to sheeit but very nice internals. The forends and stocks were so gross and dirty, with chunks missing, that I chucked both sets in the garbage. Fithy and sticky from years of tape, dirt, and sweaty fingers with potato chip residue.

Only 'downside' is that mine aren't 'magnums', meaning 2 3/4" barrel and ejector setup, but that's pretty minor for the price. :) I'm refinishing them both in flat black GunKote.

I'm setting one up as a rugged 'camp' gun for a buddy with a cabin - Green Hogue stock and forend, oversize safety and new follower. The other one will be a loaner/beater and I'm making a 'combo' with a 28" barrel.

For $150, it's a bargain. It's hard to find an HP9 receiver for $150 sometimes, so a wingmaster receiver AND 18" barrel for the same price is a sweet deal. THANK YOU CASEY! Very pleased!

damn, I bought one a year or 2 ago for $150 from him and he had plenty in still. (he had badboybeeson come in the next day and clean out about 50 - who cleaned them up and charges well $400-500 for them)

it was my 1st shotgun and I am never selling it, wish I knew about this sale, would have bought 4 more.......

I did a lot more then just clean them up, had over 2o hours into each rebuild and many of them were run over by a truck.
I think in the end we lost money on them. But it was a lot of fun working in them.

Yah they were nicely refinished and decked out with accessories from what I recall, can't believe you didn't make $$ on them
