Well another amazing creation has just come off the press from ButtWhats workshop, the Krinkov handguard version 2.0.

Let me just say this thing fits the hand AMAZING. It has to be one of my favourite wood sets of all time and I have had alot of them.

I just let the pics talk:

**Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, better ones will come soon**

I had this in mind when B first came up with the idea for a krink. The wood is a cherry, dyed (not stained) brilliant red with a black backwash to make the grain pop out. I took a risk having never used the dye before but very pleased with the results. It took me quite a while to finish as I do not do this full time. One day Bfiles and I will put all our rifles together for the ultimate VZ picture party. Between us we have about 12 - 13 CZs/CSAs of different models...some are new and some are used and its always quite the show. Working (slowly) on an Egyptian Maadi thumbhole set I believe will be some of my best work to date.

Buttwhat, Nice work! looks really well done. Do you sell these custom wood sets to the gen pop? Or are these one offs for friends and such?
I would be very interested in something like this, as im sure many others would as well.

The problem is that I cannot dedicate full time to this. I have a full time job working nights *ugh* and therefore my time is limited to weekends and spare time. My workshop is up North and I live in the city...this does not help. Last year I also lost my Mother which devastated me for a period of time and set me back largely/ Bfiles lost his Father shortly after I lost my Mother and I guess we helped each other through the grievance periods. I am currently looking for a shop and have one in sight. Although it is 1 1/2 hours away from the city I should be able to do more sets sice I will be able to work on anything without having to wait since I will basically live at the shop. I have outgrown this apartment and have long grown tired of sawdust and woodchips in my living space. I am also hoping in the near future to obtain a CNC mill/router which I will be able to offer more than just CZ furniture...say maybe some custom SKS stuff or SVT. Send me a PM and I can try to help you out. Right now folder sets are from 150 and full AK from 250 and includes all hardware in most cases but as I said ...as time permits....I usually only try to do one or 2 sets at a time.

Really sorry to hear about your mother, Being a serial entreprenuer I also understand what its like to have a great idea/product but being limited by time, money and resources.all i can say is if you believe theres something there then keep going and do everything you can to make it happen and you'll get there(careful what you wish for hehe).I also agree you will need to have more skews down the road to make this business viable. I would be interested in multiple sets eventually, but for now throw me down for a folder set.im not in a hurry so time is not an issue
i'll send you a pm for the details. its too bad you weren't out here i have a shop with the basics thats being under utilized...

Thanks slakkin ... I wish I could move to beautiful BC but my well paying job would never allow it to happen. I am trying to build up a little bit of stock to sell to everybody but everytime I do get some stuff made people usually buy it before I can post it.... or Bfiles snatches it up LOL. PM me when you are ready
