What is the frame type on the Canadian S&W 686

I looked at the S&W website amd the longer ones looked like they had the square butt. I had a long gone 586 6 incher with a square butt but that was in 1985 so you are probably right, thanks for the correction.

As Graydog pointed out that could be the case, so not all are round butts, I stand corrected. The Majority are round butts just the same.

As well some guns come with Conversion grips, round to square. That make a gun like the 629 classic look as if it has a square butt, when it fact its round. Ive, been reading smith & wesson forums and manuals. Older 629s were square, but all the new 629 classics are round. I have yet to see otherwise.

If there is a CGN member that currently has a 629 classic, could you post a pic of your gun without the grips. I know that the shorter the barrel the more likely its a round butt, but id like to see what the 5, 6.5 or longer barrel 629 classic have on them.

So the 629-6 or newer.

Your taking this personal it seems, which is not my intention, i was just asking have you seen it personally. Do you have a 629 classic that you can show the square butt on, i would like to see a picture of that.

Hi
I did not take it personal I assure you. I was just pointing out that you did not have all the facts. Sorry I do not have a 629 classis to take pictures of.
