If you where to do a Jr carbine, that would be pretty simple. Custom barrel, 1911 magwell and use 38 super magazines. I have a 1911 in 7.62 and it works quite well with 38 super mags. Trickiest part would be getting the right weight of spring/buffer.

Thats my biggest concern.
The x25mm has a lot of punch, so a stronger recoil impulse.
I'm wondering how much heavier bolt and spring would be required for a JR carbine conversion.

yes its such a hot round if you knew anyone with a PPSH 40 that could weigh the bolt that would be a very good starting point

why not try this on a thureon defence? they have it figured out for 10mm already and from looking online the early models had issues so they send people heavier bolts and buffers.

The 7.62x25 is really a cool little round - there are a few uppers/conversions out there making use of it.

Good point, Grens!
As an open bolt design such as a PPSh has forward momentum to overcome, it needn't be as heavy, correct?
As opposed to a non-locked blowback design that starts from a closed bolt, so not having any forward momentum to deal with.
Did I understand that correctly?

We don't really have to re-invent the wheel....A carbine based off a CZ52 would work.Just need a shoulder stock and a 19" barrel. or as stated the M1 carbine.
Just dreaming.
Russ...

When you guys are talking about the m1 carbine, are you talking about using the gas system as well? Cause I wouldn't want to be putting corrosive ammo through it.
Not as simple/quick to clean as a vz58 or sks

If you want to use a vz58 or sks it will have to be gas operated ,I build one there is not enough volume in the bolt to get it heavy enough, I tried (this was a flirtation with disaster as a blow back design) so now it is gas operated with a locked bolt.
