How do you store your handguns in your safe?

Its a storage solution. Plastic rods insert into the barrel, rods have a flat disc top with hooks for velcro. Place the rifle in the safe, extend the rod up to the shelf that u previously attached the loop velcro matt to. I have this and attached the velcro mat with 3m glue and aluminum rivets. The matt is secure to the bottom of the shelf and my rifles don't move. Secure and way more storage capacity.
I do this same thing with hangers from select shooting supplies. Works awesome and looks great. Especially now I have added neon lighting kit to the safes.

i went to this system last year and love it, have done it in both my pistol safes.
my father liked mine so much he did it as well.
why mess with perfection.

Rifle Rods, they are great, they keep the rifles upright without leaning them against the safe or each other and allow fast easy access to the rifles. They are on sale this week.
Pretty sure the rifle rods are plastic and not diamond encrusted......
I'm guessing the pistol holders are vinyl covered metal but I'm not sure.
I had a similar thought as you about the pistol ones but I'm sure it's not an issue.
So you never clean those highly prized barrels..........

In safe, lightly coated in G96 or Rem-oil, One safe has a 15w light bulb always on, the other safe has a Remington "dehumidifier" -- the one you plug into an outlet every 30 to 60 days. Both work well and never any rust.
Forced my wife out of our linen closet..... Keeps a nice even temperature in there. Electronic keypad lock on the door, and the pistols trigger locked in their locked range case....ready to go (separated from the ammo of course) rifles in gun cabinet, also trigger locked.

I use handgun hangers and I very much like them.
What is it about them you don't like? They have a pretty robust but pliable plastic coating on the exterior. I don't think they could harm the inside of the barrel, though I'm no metallurgist. When I first put one into my Model 17 I was a bit apprehensive as the fit looked so tight, but after doing it many times, when I clean the barrel I never find plastic scraping in there and the barrels still look excellent.
