Recently bought a Savage Model 10 FCP-SR. Decked her out with Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50, Harris bipod and PWS muzzle brake.
Can't wait to take her to the range!

Owned one. Had problems with it not like any factory ammo I fed it. Swapped the base, swapped the scope, nothing helped. Finally sold it. I got one from the first batch in Canada so maybe mine was a lemon. I've made longer and more accurate shots with a Savage Axis than I did with the my SR :(

Don't get me wrong, I loved the feel of the rifle. Just couldn't find a round it liked.
 
Congrats. Looks pretty sweet. Looking at the height of the scope to the comb of that stock, you might want to pickup an adjustable cheer rest for it to get a good cheek weld.
 
Hey inp00, Incase you ever want to get extra mags, the aics are very stiff, I wasn't able to find any 5rd accurate mags.
I've had this rifle and the same scope for over a month and still haven't taken it out.
 
Ha ha, I might post a picture of mine on here. There are lots of methods on cheek raising and I think I may actually start a thread on it. The cheepest method is the apparently the GI method... Head down to canadian tire, pickup a 10$ sleeping mat, roll of duct tape, take er home and start cutting strips. On my rifle, it took me something like 4 or 5. Still cheaper than 100$+ custom peice though and you will have lots left over for other rifles.
 
Nice looking rig. I find it odd that Savage decided to utilize a 5/8x24 tpi thread even on their .223 LR and precision models, it kind of forced me to purchase the same PWS brake/comp as you.
 
I would guess the 5/8x24 thread is common amongst law enforcement agencies (I wouldn't know for sure since I am NOT a LEO or military or anything like that), and since this is listed in Savage's LE section I would guess that is why. This rifle is just to awesome.

On my FCP-K .223Rem it is a 5/8x24 tpi. The factory muzzle brake is also a .30Cal exit dia.

I suspect it's something to do with rifle cans and the fact that most people will take a .30 rifle can and put it on their .22 rimfire if they are able. Sooner or later that can cause baffle strikes or worse. So Centerfire rifles generally go with 5/8x24 for that reason? and 22 rimfire goes with 1/2x28?

It shouldn't be an big issue for a .30 cal can to be on a 22 centerfire, I think ShrtRnd even mentions that the brake is 30 cal on the fcpk .223.

Anyway deviation from the rated caliber is very common on suppressors but not necessarily advisable so that may be why the difference, that and the barrel contour and diameter metal to work with.
