Hi,

Does anyone know if there is any difference between the two mentioned primers.

I am using the CCI small pistol primers in my 9mm Loads (124gr RNHB, Win Brass, Titegroup) and want to know if I can expect anything different if I change primers.

Thanks for any input offered.

Cheers!

I just bought some as well after hearing that they are about as hard as Winchesters. Don't know about reliability, but lots of guys at the club use them and I haven't seen or heard of anyone complaining about them not going off when they're supposed to.

I'm planning on doing some reloading for my 9 this weekend and will put them in to test.

I just went through 3000 of them and not a single dud. They loaded well into a Dillon press. Just bought another 5000, for the next round, let's hope they are consistent.

I like them alot because they have the same size packaging as cci and they are shiny :)

They are dam tight though going into s&b brass, but not a problem for me.

I only used CCI first, in light of all the shortages I bought 5000 S&B from SFRC last year and never had a single issue. Load well with the Dillon 650 and never had a dud, the only problem is of course I can no longer find them now.

Any S&B primers I have used worked fine and cost a little less than Federal/CCI/Winchester. I would buy more if I could find them in stock anywhere in Calgary.

S&B primer pockets seem to be consistently tighter than other brands, so much so that most of my buddies who reload on progressives chuck S&B cases because of priming problems with them. If you hand prime they are usable but that's as far as I would go with them. The primers, however, seem to be good quality.
