best SKS detachable mag brand?

Looking to get a couple detachable mags for my SKS and just curious what's the best brand/or type. Better to go metal or are plastic just as good? Also any fitting needed to be done? I tried buddies in mine one day but could not get it to latch but latched perfectly in his. I believe they were both Russian models. Thanks!

Tell you the truth its faster and easier to reload using the fixed mag and stripper clips

Yes I agree but getting the new wartak scope mount and I mainly use rifle for muskrat and odd gopher blowings up and would like a mag so not dumping rounds out when heading back to vehicle or loading one at a time while budy scares everything off.

My Tapco mags have been 100% reliable. I have a laminated stock that needed to be sanded down to accept the mag and the mag itself needed to be shaved down on a few spots, other than that I love em.

The metal one I got is 100% issues/ ftf. The Tapco worked fine.

Just ordered 4 SKS Tapco 5/20's from GP TACTICAL LTD. Best price I've seen so far.
Good mags. No issues.

I use the 5 round lower profile ones from Promag for hunting with good success. Got them from HiCal.

All 5 of my tapcos are trouble free and are great. X2 to the gp tactical sale i just bought 2 more! I just picked up a promag 5/40 recently but IMO tapco mags are built much better.
