I need some quick advise regarding a fair ballpark value for these two enfields. I know I am missing some crucial information but it's the best I can do right now.

1915 SMLE No1 Mk3 with matching parts, volley sights, cut off, etc... No info yet on bore condition or manufacturer, the wood looks to be VG (but dark).

Comercial long lee with volley sights, matching, complete, good wood and bore, no info on manufacturer or year yet.

With the crazy prices for everything enfield nowadays, I am lost to what a fair value would be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

If you can get the 1915 under 500, grab it.

Long Lees, commercial ones, mostly were BSA manufacture. That one likely is a Boer War vet. 800 and up, these days, if all is correct; saw a REALLY nice one for 1600, but it was a Metford with a perfect barrel: rare!

Generally, I don't do "values", so I could be 'way to hell and gone out.

Hope this helps.

I will concur with Smellie here on his quoted prices. If the 1915 is all matching Id go under $600 for that especially with the volleys intact regardless of bore condition. After all she will be a looker anyhow if she is in vg condition.

I'd go higher on the 1915 if it's complete, regardless of bore, because I know where here are some new barrels - but that's me, with the Long Lee - if you can get it for $800 try not to giggle while paying and then run - do not walk - to your car/truck and see how fast it'll do zero to sixty.

Thanks guys,

Unfortunately the asking prices on these ones are double whats been listed here. Both of them have been on my short list for a number of years. It's going to be tough call. Still waiting for more info, so I have some time to think it over.

I agree with SMELLIE's evaluations. I am aware that he is very reluctant to give a price on rifles, and as he did so here, it is one of the times he felt that he had to.

If the asking prices are DOUBLE those SMELLIE and others have given you, then take the advice of the people above as to what the rifles are WORTH. Unfortunately, with the Internet, some people have highly inflated opinions on the value of their items. This is not to say that someone, somewhere, paid these prices, but if those prices were paid, it was probably because the firearms were in almost unissued condition or had a historical value.

Historical value can add a lot to the item. BUT, it has to have Provenance; that is, DOCUMENTED evidence. Whatever someone tells you is a STORY, and you should always BUY THE FIREARM AND NOT THE STORY. In my opinion, the Seller is asking way too much.

If you are thinking of paying DOUBLE the price of the ones that the knowledgeable Members above have realistically given you, then take ENEFGEE's advice, and "run - do not walk - to your car/truck and see how fast it'll do zero to sixty." In the opposite direction to the Seller.

SMELLIE's post was very helpful in establishing a ball park value.

The prices mentioned above allows for an educated start in the price negotiations. Since I do not see these for sale often I have no idea what the ballpark figure would be.

Thank you to all who posted. It has been very helpful.

Then just through him a "FAIR-OFFER" and wait for him around... Don't overpay, if you look hard you'll find them elsewhere as well.
