Where are the Sako rifles ?

Probably because they're over-priced for what you get.

I've had a few, and eventually sold them. The thing that bugs me the most about these is the cheesy, pathetic, cast, side-mounted safety on a rifle that costs close to two grand by the time the smoke clears. I couldn't care less if they put on a tang safety, or a 3-position M70 style safety, but that uber-cheap safety that Sako stains their rifles with putting a big fugly nose ring on a supermodel.

Just looking for a sako 85, I heard that they didn't ship many to Canada last year, and that there is a wait list with some dealers, just wondering if someone had more info.

There's some out there, and you only need one right?

Jaycee: What the hell's a safety? I only chamber when it's time to shoot:stirthepot2:

Likely because they sell quickly and demand is exceeding supply right now. End of the season is not the best time to find a big selection.

What model do you want, and what round do you want it chambered in?

And if BNIB isn't an absolute priority then don't be shy about talking to some of the Sako collectors.
Many of us have one or two safe queens that we might be convinced to part with.

The last few years Sako Sales have been slow compared to the the last 5 years before that. It seems there is a lot of variety for $2K plus nowadays here in old Canada! Love the old Sako's, I have a few, but other than the Grizzly,Grey Wolf the only models that even peek my interet?
Sako also seems to not put Canada as there number one priority now, since The US is there top seller now! Most dealers don't even get there guns till February, a little late for hunting season, if they even show up?
Sako Canada needs to get there act together!!!

I agree ^ there's a lot more competition for them these days. I love my Sako, which I bought used for half price. I was just debating getting another, but going new this time. From what I seen with the quality on the Win Featherweight I bought last year, I rather save $600.00 and give Win Model 70 Super Grade a try. They sure are beautiful. I have one on order, I should be seeing it next week.

I love the Sako I have now, looking for a new one is a different caliber, all the dealers seem to have some on order but none in the store, just wondering if there was something other than supply/demand happening
