Where are the Sako rifles ?

Sadly the OP has bailed on his own thread... Too bad because I was interested in finding him what he was looking for. Now I will highjack his thread and ask if anyone knows where to find a full stocked carbine Sako in a cool caliber? Winter's long and i picture myself hunting the big timber with a cool European caliber next year...

.30-06.

Rounds out my Sako collection nicely. 22-250, .260, .30-06, .338WM

:)Looks like a 'good family'. I've formed a small family myself, but with Schultz & Larsens. From the top down;
-model 68DL in 7x61 S&H
-model 65DL in 308 NM
-model 68DL in 358 NM

Also have another small family, ;)cousins to the Schultz & Larsen family, this one Husqvarnas. Top down,
-model 3000 in .270 Win
-model 4000, light weight in 30-06
-model 1651 in358 NM

And now, the beginnings of another sort of related Northern European family, Sako. And, to start with,a
modelA III in .270 Win.

;)Next, 'possibly' another similar example, in 9.3x62:).

Mr. Peterson them are some fine looking rifles you have there. I think I have your Husky in .270 win's twin. Also the AIII but mine is rechambered to 6mm remington with a new barrel and stock. I like your taste though always have when I see your pics on here.
Cheers

:)Thanks guy. For rifles, I like decent quality hunting rifles, and there's a few more I'd like to get while I'm still able to make use of them.

Couldn't agree more!

Yep! Personally for the price you pay, for a bit more, you can get a Cooper through Clay. You can custom order it exactly the way you want. Nothing wrong with Sakos but Clay seems to have decent stock for Coopers in many calibers and can order one in if not. If you are looking for standard walnut and blue I doubt it would be too long to get in.

That said, some day when I have satisfied my desire for some other rifles, I hope pick up a nice Vixen in .222. Those are such darned nice looking rifles. The new Sakos though don't do for me what the new Coopers do. Just personal taste.
