Century Arms VZ2008 Sporter Non Restricted VZ58's are Coming... Yay or Nay?

A few issues with these Century Arms rifles.

Barrels are incorrect .308 spec and not the correct .311 for 7.62x39.
16inch Non Chrome lined barrels.
Muzzle threading are incorrect AK 14x1LH, will not take Vz.58 muzzle devices.

Hi
if you have not found out already these guns are being imported by a wholesaler ,many dealers will have them in stock, inc us S&J Hardware
the bbls are fully chrome lined, they will be a Canadian warrenty of 1 year and limited lifetime of any factory defects.
There has been a lot of work put into this project to get a quality CZ vz 58 product into Canada that does not have a liklyhood of getting banned due to converted auto receivers.
these have new US made semi auto receivers and bbls.
They will be a quality product
The guns are CAI made guns, the issues you read about the vz2008 are fro ma few years ago, many if not all of the issues were from out of spec mil serp parts kits, as well as the normaly things that happen with mating a new receiver and with war stock parts.
There have been many 1000,sof these sold over the last few years.
price wise, importing and customs storage was not free last time I checked, this is a cost that the US sold 16 inch bbl vz2008 does not have, aswell as a made for the Canadian market 18.5 inch chrome lined bbl.

We @ S&J will do our own test when we get the guns, and post the video on line.
bbb
hope that helps
Simon

I wouldn't touch any firearm Century has anything to do with regardless of the price. They are notorious for assembling rifles(they don't actually make anything) out of parts bins with zero QC. The chances of anything they touched actually working properly are slim too. Thousands of Lee-Enfields, FALs and other rifles they assembled required rebuilding at the very least. Most of the Lee-Enfields had bad headspace and were unsafe to shoot. Run, don't walk away from Century.

I think I may just buy one. I don't think I will order it, but rather hand pick one from a dealer. I think they will probably be just fine. CAI had problems years ago, but there is lots of feedback on the internet of decent guns coming out since.

No worse then the CZ, CSA and HERMEX quality control ;)

I was looking at these as well but don't think it will compare to the original. I'm looking at one for my son. What would an original cz858 tactical non restricted be worth these days. Kind of off topic but just wondering since I'll be getting one or the other.

Well considering that most of the owners, including myself, are not willing to sell them ever, i would assume the price would be pretty damn high!
