Is there very much difference in the SSA & SSA-E, I know that the "breaks" are described as carrot & candy cane respectively, but is that it?

I have both and the only difference to me is that the SSA-E feels lighter (so it's used on the wife's AR). Not dissin' guys who like that...I just prefer the 'carrot' break instead.

I installed the ssa-e in my ddm4 and it completely changed the rifle. I love the crisp break of the ssa-e I get a grin every time I pull the trigger. You really can not go wrong with either

Same trigger, different springs. The SSA is 4.5 lb total. Very nice and very safe. The SSA-E is 3.5 lbs. For my purposes (service rifle and 3-gun) I prefer the SSA.

I have both and they are both very high quality and shoot well. Would not buy another SSA-E.

I have the SSA in my Daniel defense AR, and although its a very nice overall trigger, I can't say I would buy it again.

I think for the price I was expecting a much better trigger and was disappointed when i got it. I tried a Timney at a 3 gun match and it was really sweet. I think if I had to do it again and wanted to stick with Geisselle I would go SSA-E or try Bills 3 gun trigger.

The SSA will allow you to get your hits very easily/accurately, but to me it's just a very clean stock trigger rather than being something special. More like a chipped VW GTI rather than Porsche GT3

I know it boils down to personal preference, but I think the SSA-E is too light.

In service rifle it is too light for the rule book. Even when that does not matter, I still prefer 4.5 -5 lbs.

I've fired and installed most of the others and prefer the SSA for quality and safety.

I have 8 carbines set up with various Geissele triggers and my favourite is the Super Dynamic 3 Gun, I have about 6800+ rounds plus through one of my carbines with that trigger combination and it is fanatastic.

gadget

I have 2 ssa 1 rra and the kac
other then long distance, I cant really tell.
when doing 3 gun, and runnin and gunnin, they are all supper light, if I was forced to give an answer I think I like the ssa the best, light but nice clean break

How does the super dynamic or the super tricon compare to the SSA. I know they are the same except for the trigger shape but does it really make that much difference?

To me it does. Changes the position of your index pad to where you'd normally put it (in the center of the bow) Vs right at the tip of the straight trigger if you want it, thus changing the feel of the pull.

I have two SD-E and really like it.

Next lower I'm putting in a Timney drop-in, 3.5lbs single stage to see what they are all about. From the material/video on them, they are fantastic triggers too.

Who sell those Timmey drop in in our dealers... JP.

The timney has a shorter reset than the ssa or ssa-e.
Feels crisper too.
It's more comparable to the super three gun.
For precision shooting the high speed dmr or national match are what you want.
For slinging lead fast, timney or s3g.
For a carry rifle, ssa or ssa-e.

You lost me here, i want to get a trigger for fast precision shooting wich one is the good one... JP.

.308 carbine ?
High speed dmr.

It is for a DD MK 18, i was told that changing the trigger would be a big improvment, and i need one for a DPMS Panther Oracle 308 for the same kind of shooting precision fast firing... JP.

I use the SSA in my MK18 wannabe (different manufacturer than DD). My AR10 NM uses the HS NM - DMR (if this helps decide??)
