When I first got my PAL/RPAL , it took about 5 years until I got my first restricted, and it was my 12th gun (Handgun). If it werent for classification, I woul have owned 5 "Restricted" Guns first

Now that I really got into shooting my handgun, I go to the range all the time, and looking into a Daniel Defense AR for a second range toy. I originally never planned on getting any restricteds, just had a lot of fun guns for camping and fishing, then I saw and felt a pistol that spoke to me so I bought it.
All that said, I have no regrets in waiting so long to get a restricted gun, the system MASSIVELY affected what I got first, more due to the fact I didnt want to be forced to shoot at a range. After a while, the joy of bringing my friends out to the bush and letting them shoot a bunch of my ammo totally wore off, now I love going to the range by myself for hours at a time and getting into a total zone.
So, I became a range shooter over time, as said, now I am getting an AR to have something else fun to bring to the range with my handgun, I also want to get into CQB matches and such as well. Most non restricted Semi autos kind of blow lol. I got my SKS's and M305's, maybe get a T97 next, on the fence about it though.
I should also mention, I am not sure if I would ever have bothered to even think about getting an AR or the T97 if STANAG pistol mags did not exist.
